Sunday Snapshots of the Week

Chase is so happy with his
new Clone Wars sheet set.

Evan is getting braver and braver
with his climbing at the playground.
Here I am taking a quick pick while
standing close enough to spot him.

Sleepy EJ--
I usually have to wake Evan up from his nap so that we can
pick up Skyler and Chase...it just breaks my heart to do so!

I encourage the kids to get some fresh air and exercise everyday,
even though we are often stuck inside doing homework.

Skyler's favorite pastime: writing/illustrating books.
She is always working on some project, and
I am always amazed by her endless creativity, wit,
and sense of "voice" in her works.

Chase is working hard at reading...
he still doesn't quite see himself as a "reader"
but I think that soon it will "click" for him and he will take off.

Chase has improved tremendously in his writing since the
start of kindergarten.  He is a left-hander, but has
been trained in school to use his right hand only for writing.

Having a snack and working on flashcards
while waiting for Skyler at Kumon.

The sandbox was recently re-opened at MPP.
Evan brings home a lot of sand in his shoes everyday!

The boys love botcha time!

I am having so much fun coming up with Vitamix
concoctions with things I have in my fridge and pantry.
Here, a chocolatey treat: Greek yogurt, almond milk,
bananas, pecans and chocolate chips.

Yum!  The kids loved it!

Another creamy one, but with berries this time,
at Skyler's request:  Greek yogurt, almond milk,
bananas, mixed berries, a touch of agave.

"Juice, juice!"

Two thumbs up for Vitamix!

During the week, I am alone with the kids for dinner.
Recently, we started playing "Favorites"--
"What is your favorite ___________?" and everyone
has a chance to answer.
Skyler and Chase really enjoy this game.

Rainy days and Friday--we've been blessed with wonderful
cool weather recently and mostly sunny days.
A little rain on this day felt good for a change!

Saturday night at the Fitness fair sponsored
by the MTA at Rec 7.

Sunday potluck at our church.
