And every day's the fourth of July
From "Saturday in the Park"
Performed by Chicago
Mosaic. Clay. Quincy. Lacey Woods. Clarenford Station. Lyon. Hayes. Lubber Run. Westover. These are just a handful of parks that have played such a big part of my SAHM life with the kids. When Skyler and Chase were really young, and especially before Skyler entered preschool, we spent many, many days at the parks and playgrounds in Arlington.
Luckily for us, there are over 1,100 acres of parks and open space in Arlington, and within the over 130 parks here, there are numerous well-maintained playgrounds perfect for the younger set. Slides, swings, sandboxes. Friends to meet, old and new. Other moms and dads to chat with, sharing joys and frustrations. Fresh air, room to run. Hey, they may not be Central Park, but it for the kids and me, these parks have been a godsend...a place to have fun, a place to grow, a place to connect. Can you dig it? Yes, I can.

We spent the afternoon today at Chestnut Hills Park on Harrison Street in North Arlington.

My little nature lovers gravitate toward the natural aspects of the park.

Wow, this must've been one big tree.

At one point Evan ran full speed ahead downhill (scary!) on this asphalt path toward Yorktown High School, where there was baseball practice in session. He sure has a mind of his own!

Evan is fearless when he's on the baby slide.

"I diy (did) it!" One of Evan's new phrases and what he proclaimed at the bottom of the slide.

Chase writing "math problems" in the sand. "You gotta solve it, Mom!"

Ending the day on a sweet note at Baskin-Robbins in the Lee-Harrison shopping center.
